"Malaysia's city of themeparks"
Johor Bahru sits just outside of Singapore, at the southern edge of Malaysia. With a causeway conveniently connecting it to Singapore, it’s a large commuter city for those working over the border. Aside from being a less expensive alternative to living in Singapore, Johor Bahru is well known for having a large number of theme parks.
We visited Johor Bahru to experience Legoland Malaysia, one of the city’s major attractions. To get around, the fastest method of transportation is Uber or GrabCar, with each ride running $1-3. It was well worth staying the night in Johor Bahru rather than commuting to Legoland from Singapore, because the border transfer takes a few hours each way, even though the two cities are minutes apart.
For those who enjoy theme parks or are traveling with kids, Johor Bahru is a great place to spend a few days. Aside from the main attractions though, you’re better of heading to Singapore to explore.
