"A tropical haven and financial center"
Singapore is a city-state and global financial center just south of Malaysia. Its tropical climate and cultural melting pot make it a pull for people all over the world. With a stunning skyline, strict environmental regulations, and abundant jobs, Singapore is a stop worth making in Asia.
Singapore was a fun city to explore, though it reminded us of Florida, USA. Palm trees line most of the sidewalks, and the tropical climate is hot, hot, hot. We found the best time to explore Singapore was at night when the temperatures were cooler and the lights were brighter.
Singapore is a very safe city and we felt comfortable walking around any time of day. Because Singapore is such a diverse city-state, we were able to find cuisines from all over the world easily. For those with extra time, it’s worth exploring some of the islands off the coast of Singapore in addition to the mainland. Though Singapore wasn’t as thrilling or culturally different from the U.S. as other cities we’ve been to, it was still a nice place to explore.
